The new Luminar Neo editor uses an improved AI engine that should improve the quality of processing and increase the performance of the new software.
Luminar Neo is a standalone editor that includes many of the features of the Luminar AI editor. It also includes some completely new tools. For example, there are more advanced tools for adjusting the lighting parameters of images. The software analyzes each image, the AI will analyze and recognize the depth and identify the object in the scene, which, according to Skylum, gives the user precise control over exposure and tone.
In addition, the new Luminar Neo editor can automatically recognize and remove various artifacts caused by dirty camera sensors or lenses. And now you can automatically remove other unwanted objects in the frame, such as wires from electric poles in the city.
Another new tool is the Background Replacement feature.
This tool works similar to the existing Sky Replacement feature. Skylum claims that this tool gives photographers full control over the background of their portrait photos. This tool will help you quickly replace the background with a completely new one from your chosen images. The new feature adds more tools for portrait editing by combining Portrait AI, Skin AI, and Bokeh AI into one new tool.
What’s also interesting is that Skylum will also be releasing a mobile app along with Luminar Neo. It will reportedly make it easier for photographers to send photos taken on their smartphone directly to Luminar Neo on their computer for editing. Once processed, the photo can be sent back to the smartphone for posting on social media.
In addition, you can save all your settings in presets for reuse, you will have full control over each stage of editing in a non-destructive workflow and a minimalist user interface. The editor also has functionality for working with masks and a convenient window for working with layers.
